QUALIFIER INFORMATION

POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

Prior to participating, all participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures and COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.

 

FORMAT:

  • All players will participate in an 18-hole stroke-play qualifying round.
  • 156 players will advance to the 87th SCGA Amateur Net Championship at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa (Legends Course) on April 19 – 20, 2021.
  • Flight Breakdown (Players are flighted based on their Handicap Index as of March 8):
    • Arroyo Flight: 7.3 & below
    • Mission Flight: 7.4 – 10.4 
    • Pacific Flight: 10.5 – 14.6
    • San Andreas: 14.7 & above
  • During the qualifier, players will use their Handicap Index (as of March 8) and will receive 95% of their Course Handicap (unless otherwise noted by the SCGA).
  • The final number of qualifying spots at each site will be available from the Committee on the day of play.
  • All ties at the qualifier will be broken using the USGA suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).

 

REGISTRATION:

There will be no formal registration at this event.

 

STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted on scga.org one week in advance of the qualifier.
  • Starting times will range from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 10:50 a.m. off Hole 1.
  • Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss with each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off.
  • Materials such as tees and hole location sheets will not be distributed until further notice. Refer to the SCGA COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions for further instructions.

   

TEES & YARDAGE:

  • Men in all flights will play from the BLUE yardage and tee markers. Course Rating: 67.6 / Slope: 114 / 5,568 yards / Par 70. 
  • Women in all flights will play from the WHITE yardage and tee markers. Course Rating: 71.1 / Slope: 121 / 5,254 yards / Par 71. 

 

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may make arrangements for practice rounds at their own expense.
  • Call Meadowlark GC at (714) 846-1364 or book online at meadowlarkgc.com.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available by 6:30 a.m. on the day of the qualifier.
  • Range balls will be provided compliments of Meadowlark GC and the SCGA.
  • Players should arrive on site no earlier than one hour prior to their starting time and must limit driving range usage to 15 minutes.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • The Grill will be available by 6:30 a.m. for to-go orders only.
  • Major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION & PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Automotive transportation is optional at the player’s expense ($21 per player).
  • Players who are capable and willing to walk should do so as noted in the pre-event questionnaire.
  • Given single-rider cart restrictions due to COVID-19, only two (2) carts will be issued to each pairing group, and two (2) golf bags may be placed on each cart. One (1) person will be the designated driver, and the other player must walk for the entirety of the round. Players may ride in the same cart if, and only if, a divider has been installed in the golf cart by the host facility.
  • Pull or push carts are permitted.
  • SCGA COVID-19 Golf Cart Policy.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Caddies are prohibited until further notice.
  • Spectators are prohibited due to golf course policy.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any club-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org or (818) 980-3630.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $10 administrative fee.
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
    • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
